A Robot Made Surgery From Long Distance 3000 Kilometers (1500 Miles) Using 5G

A team of Chinese medical professionals successfully performed the remote surgery on a patient 3,000 km away. However, they did it using 5G technology with the assistance of domestically developed surgical robot.

Doctors have performed the first 5G remote brain surgery. The patient was over 1,500 miles away and suffered from Parkinson’s disease. The Patient received a deep brain stimulation implant during a three-hour procedure. Dr. Ling Zhipei Performed the groundbreaking surgery by manipulating instruments in Beijing from his location in Sanya City using a computer powered by China Mobile and Huawei’s 5G network.

The robot accurately repeated the doctor's movements, removing the lesions in the targeted area. At the same time, the application of holographic projection technology-enabled Professor Niu to interact with the patient and medical staff with almost no time lag.

The patient was diagnosed with bladder cancer three months ago and was in dire need of surgery after the condition suddenly exacerbated.
